Cleaning Up the Past: The Facts Behind Traxion’s Mission

At Traxion Materials, we firmly believe progress starts with transparency.

As we invest in a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable future for tire recycling across the region, we want our neighbors to be fully equipped with the facts, not the rumors.

Below, we’ve addressed some common misconceptions about Traxion’s operations and our long-term commitment to the communities we proudly serve.

Myth #1: “They’re piling tires on open land.”

Fact:

Quite the opposite. Traxion’s Tire LifeCycle Network is designed to eliminate legacy stockpiles that have been polluting our communities for decades.

We routinely enhance our standards of practice and operation, even investing in newly purchased trailers to ensure tires awaiting shredding are securely and safely stored. Such investments ensure a more organized and environmentally responsible operation.

Myth #2: “It’s going to smell and attract pests.”

Fact:

With processes and infrastructure in place to minimize odor, noise, and other potential disruptions, Traxion ensures our facility remains a good neighbor to the surrounding community.

By safely removing and recycling legacy tire stockpiles, our work helps eliminate the stagnant water breeding grounds that contribute to mosquito infestations and the spread of disease across the region.

Myth #3: “Facilities like this aren’t safe.”

Fact:

Traxion’s focus remains on moving forward with the highest standards of safety and environmental stewardship. Our goal is to continue strengthening our operations and protocols to not only meet but consistently exceed compliance expectations.

By working closely with oversight entities and maintaining rigorous internal readiness practices, we are committed to proactive prevention, operational integrity, and the continued confidence of the communities we serve.

Myth #4: “There was a shady land deal.”

Fact:

Traxion’s leadership team has remained actively engaged throughout every step of all public processes by attending open meetings, answering stakeholders’ questions, and working transparently with community members and local officials. All decision-making regarding property purchases has been publicly voted on, reflecting our belief that meaningful progress starts with collaboration, integrity, and transparency.

Traxion has committed significant financial collateral toward site cleanup, modernization, and infrastructure improvements with the intention of creating a regional hub for innovative and responsible recycling.

The result of our collective due diligence will be long-term: Traxion’s investment will propel the region’s economic growth, create new local jobs (providing countless residents with second chance opportunities), and foster stronger local commitment to responsible recycling practices that benefit all.

Myth #5: “There won’t be any local benefit.”

Fact:

Traxion is deeply committed to creating meaningful career opportunities for our neighbors. Beyond offering 25–40 full-time positions with competitive benefits, our mission includes providing second chances for individuals eager to rebuild and strive for something greater.

That same commitment extends beyond our facility walls; recently, Traxion donated a box truck to Campbell County Schools to help ensure students have reliable access to healthy meals each day.

We believe good jobs and local investments alike can change lives—and by prioritizing local hires, vendors, and community support, we’re helping strengthen the region from within.

Every Traxion opportunity represents a shared future built on hard work, integrity, and community.

Myth #6: “They don’t care what the community thinks.”

Fact:

Community partnership remains at the heart of Traxion’s mission.

Our team is always accessible to the public—whether through local meetings, phone, or email—and we welcome every opportunity to connect directly. We encourage residents and community partners to reach out to us, share feedback, and engage with our leadership in person.

In the weeks ahead, Traxion will be hosting community events and outreach opportunities to enhance open dialogue. We vow to keep all community members informed and involved as we continue building a stronger, more sustainable future together.
